Thrush, like other vaginal infections, refers to the most common gynecological diseases.

And although most of the vaginal infections are well treatable with antifungal drugs and antibiotics, achieving a lasting result can be very difficult and often the disease worsens again and again. It would seem that the course of treatment has been passed, and the preparations have been chosen correctly, and after 2 - 3 weeks, the itching, burning, and discharge again return, and so it repeats several times a year.

What is the reason?.

The cause of exacerbations of thrush and other vaginal infections is a violation of the natural protection of the vagina (dysbiosis).

What is a vaginal ecosystem?.

Vaginal ecosystem is a unique protection of female health. It is a natural protective barrier of the vagina from microbes and increases local immunity.

The structure of the vaginal ecosystem is simple: Flora (Lactobacillus) + Vaginal epithelium.

Important role in it is played by hormones - estrogens, responsible for the maturation of the epithelium. Only lactobacilli can attach to the mature epithelium, which, in turn, produces hydrogen peroxide and other protective factors that acidify the environment in the vagina, thus providing a natural antibacterial effect.

In a normally functioning vaginal ecosystem where Lactobacillus is 95%, microbes that enter the vagina are displaced and the inflammatory process does not develop. Why do vaginal infections become acute again and again? After treatment of thrush and other infections with antifungal drugs or antibiotics, Lactobacillus does not remain in the vagina, and the epithelium is removed. Thus, natural protection is destroyed, and the woman becomes very vulnerable, and microorganisms - the causative agents of the infection freely reproduce in the vagina and cause an exacerbation of the disease.

In addition, the development of dysbiosis of the vagina can contribute to: pregnancy and lactation menstruation inappropriate or excess personal hygiene (vaginal douches, douches) swimming in the pool, open water, saunas sperminsynthetic belestress, overload hormonal contraceptive hormone levels in the menopause and menopause a few systemic diseases (diabetes, etc.).

How is vaginal dysbiosis manifested and how dangerous?.

The vaginal dysbiosis is manifested by itching, burning, discharge, which occurs without special reasons, for example, after menstruation, swimming in the pool, stress, etc..

It leads to: the development of inflammatory diseases, the aggravation of the treated infections becomes the cause of false positive results in the diagnosis of infectious diseases. In the future, vaginal dysbiosis can lead to infertility, uterine bleeding, intrauterine growth retardation and postpartum complications. If this process is identified at an early stage, then you can do without antibiotics. It is enough to restore the vaginal ecosystem.
