Australian scientists have discovered several genes that are responsible for the development of chronic fatigue syndrome. This discovery will help, finally, to explain the development of this mysterious state.

A group of scientists from the University of South Wales, Australia, viewed more than 6 million DNA fragments of people who had been infected with viral infections and subsequently suffered from chronic fatigue syndrome.

Professor Andrew Lloyd and his colleagues from the Center for Infection and Inflammation Studies found about 35 genes that were associated with the development of the disease.

According to the head of the research, these 35 can not only help to understand the nature of the disease, but also become a diagnostic test for the disease.

Chronic fatigue syndrome is a disease that usually begins with an acute fever and a viral infection. Then a feeling of extreme fatigue develops in the individual muscle groups, however, studies have not shed light on either the exact cause or the mechanism of disease development.
