Girls who devote a lot of time to the Internet, sleep little or regularly drink alcohol, are more likely to suffer from excess weight than their peers, say scientists.

Scientists have studied more than 5,000 girls aged 14 to 21 years for 1 year. It turned out that the more girls spent time on the Internet, the more they grew out of the body mass index (BMI). The same trend was observed with regular use of alcoholic beverages and lack of sleep. According to scientists, these three habits had a major effect on weight gain. The results of the study were published in the journal Pediatrics.

Experts believe that the effect can immediately be invisible, but over time it becomes quite obvious. The study involved 5036 girls.

Experts interviewed them about how many hours they spend on the Internet, sleep and how much alcohol they consume regularly, according to an online edition for girls and women from 14 to 35 years old Pannochka. Net Scientists have found out that the Internet is becoming more popular, and its impact on weight affects mostly girls under 18. In girls who slept on average 5, not 8 hours, also the body mass index increased. Girls who drank more than two servings of alcohol a week, gained extra pounds compared to their non-drinkers, stressed experts.
