Love inspires, but knowingly it is compared to a disease. Scientists from Novosibirsk have proved that the passion for a beautiful lady contributes to the weakening of the immune system in men.

Scientists conducted an experiment on rodents, in which it was found that the smell of a female weakens the immune system of sexually mature male mice, but makes them more resistant to the injuries they receive in the battle for a beautiful lady.

During the experiment, the male mice were put into four individuals in cages and for a while put on the cage the sawdust from under the females. On the exciting odor of females, males responded with an enhanced synthesis of sex hormones, especially testosterone, and also stress hormones glucocorticoids. However, androgens and glucocorticoids inhibit the immune system, which was documented by specialists.

Four male rodents do not get along well in one cage, and the exciting smell makes them even more aggressive. Nevertheless, bitten males after exposure to the smell of females, for example, have more easily suffered the consequences of fights than control mice, despite the weakened immunity.

According to scientists, this is due to the complex effects of testosterone.

It acts as an anesthetic, and also stimulates blood formation, increasing, including the number of immunocompetent cells. Both these effects compensate for the negative consequences of wounds and hemorrhages.

From the smell of females, humoral immunity weakens, but the ability to persistently endure injuries that the stronger sex often receives again in the presence of the fair sex is enhanced, experts noted..
