An extra hour in bed on Monday and a delay in work can significantly reduce the risk of heart attacks, say Swedish scientists.
As a result of the studies it was found out that it is Monday morning that carries the greatest risk of cardiac arrest due to a number of reasons typical for the first working day of the week. Scientists have analyzed and found out at what time most often there are heart attacks in working people under the age of 65.
It turned out that heart problems often occur in people on Monday. In this case, most of the heart attacks occur in the period after the spring transfer of the clock for an hour ahead, and least of all - after the autumn transfer one hour ago.
According to experts, this situation is easily explained. It has long been known that sleep has a beneficial effect on the functioning of the cardiovascular system, while lack of sleep, in turn, makes the body less protected.
Thus, according to the authors of the study, those who are used to staying up late at the weekend and want to protect themselves from health problems, it is necessary to linger a little in the morning of Monday in bed.
According to the researchers, an extra hour of sleep can bring significant benefits only in the morning of Monday. The study of diaries of sleep shows that people wake up later in the weekend and fall asleep later, so early morning climbing on the first working day can cause certain violations in some, says the author of the study Imre Janski.
