Raw milk can lead to health problems, scientists say.
Already in many countries the sale of raw milk is prohibited due to the content of potentially harmful microbes. Infection with bacteria can spoil the milk - makes it taste bitter, and the drink itself is sticky. Modern technologies are designed to reduce the initial bacterial components in pasteurized milk to a very low level.
However, in untreated milk, there may be various bacteria from the udder of the cow, milking equipment and other means.
Physicians of different countries argue about the benefits and harms of using unpasteurized milk. Raw milk is drunk in many rural regions of European countries. Also the sale of unpasteurized milk is allowed in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. According to Israeli doctors, the risks exceed the positive side - through the fresh milk can be infected with dangerous infections, such as salmonella or a bacterium tuberculosis.
