Women with excess weight are less likely to risk premature birth, according to American researchers, according to an online edition for girls and women from 14 to 35 years old Pannochka. Net Scientists conducted a study in which 253 mothers took part. It turned out that among the participants of the experiment only 8% gave birth at the time of up to 35 weeks. Among women with normal weight, the proportion of premature births was 22%. All women participating in the study were at high risk because the previous birth was premature, or the current pregnancy was complicated by bleeding.

According to experts, this is due to the difference in the frequency of uterine contractions.

In thin women and women with normal weight, the rate of uterine contractions between the 22nd and 34th weeks of pregnancy increased. Scientists suggest that overweight affects the hormonal background, which in turn affects the frequency of contractions of the uterus.

The results of studies suggest that for women who have a high risk of premature birth, weight becomes a significant factor that affects the term of labor.
