Using teeth whitening with an ultraviolet lamp, you can damage your eyes and skin, according to British researchers.

According to experts, ultraviolet bleaching procedures are equivalent if the patient sunbathed in the middle of summer in the open space without any protection from the sun: the desire to get a sparkling white smile, like Hollywood stars, can result in a fourfold radiation exposure.

For this reason, researchers believe that people with thin and photosensitive skin are even more at risk. In addition, dentists discovered that after tooth whitening, the tooth tissue was damaged:

more grooves were formed on the enamel surface, which made the teeth more vulnerable to the load of chewing food.

Teeth whitening is one of the most popular cosmetic services in dental clinics. In this case, bleaching agents are used - usually hydrogen peroxide, to remove specks on the enamel from tea, coffee, red wine and cigarettes. Ultraviolet also activates the oxidation processes and thereby increases the efficiency of whitening, however, doctors have found no benefit to such a procedure for dental health.
