The most optimal number of eggs that need to be taken from a woman who is going to undergo IVF is 15 pieces, specialists. Scientists specifically studied the information accumulated for seventeen years. In their opinion, it is this strategy that will make it possible to give birth to a child, reports The Daily Mail.

At the same time, if we take more than fifteen, then this is unsafe and less effective. Scientists found that the number of live births was reduced if fewer eggs were taken from the ovaries. So, the golden mean of the scientists recognized the number between 15 and 20 ovules. It is remarkable: the more cells are taken, the greater the risk of complications due to increased stimulation of the ovaries with medicines.

Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OCS) can provoke pain, weight gain, sometimes thrombosis and oxygen starvation. In some cases, this condition can lead to death. Usually 1-2 embryos enter the uterus, and the rest are frozen in the form of cells or embryos.

To calculate the model, scientists used data on 400,000 cycles of IVF, which were then compared using a statistical model. The work took into account the age of the woman, the number of eggs taken, and the number of live births.
