A children's shelter in the Belgorod-Dnestrovsky region of Odessa recorded an outbreak of hepatitis A. Nineteen children are hospitalized.

At the same time, the director of the health department of the regional state administration, Vyacheslav Polyasny, asserts that the situation is not extraordinary. According to him, similar outbreaks of hepatitis A occur periodically in institutions where collective nutrition is organized.

Polyasny said that for the localization and elimination of the outbreak specialists carry out a complex of antiepidemic measures. In particular, in the shelter samples of drinking water were selected, hygienic washings from environmental objects. For children who have been in contact with patients, medical supervision has been established.
