American scientists are seriously exploring how safe and justified can be the use of people's soaps with antibacterial properties.

Over the past ten years, a great variety of hygiene products have appeared, containing antibacterial components. And more and more often the question was asked: how much these newfangled means are safe for our health?.

The basis of the antibacterial effect in various types of hygiene and cosmetics is triclosan and triclobane, respectively in liquid and solid substances. The action of this substance suppresses the function of the enzyme responsible for the production of the bacterial wall in the body. Without this wall, any bacterium is doomed to death from negative environmental influences.

But the intensity of reproduction of bacteria is unusually high, for only one day can grow for several generations.

And the natural mutation of bacteria occurs just as quickly. To replace the bacteria disinfected with triclosan, bacteria, in which the enzyme is already somewhat modified and not exposed to triclosan.

These "mutants" are stronger and to the impact of "antibacterial properties" they are already ready. So it's impossible to resist the new "carious monsters" with old means, where does the question come from, and is it worth starting this fight?.
