This was discussed at a meeting of the City Commission on issues of technological and environmental safety and emergency situations.
As Irina Zubkova, the head of the department for state control over compliance with the sanitary legislation of the State Procurement Service Administration in Kharkov, reported that this year there were 1672 cases of acute intestinal infections, while in 2016 - 1494 cases. According to Irina Zubkova, the incidence of OCD among children is 2.5-3 times higher than in adults. More than half of the reported cases occur in children under two years of age.
"The state of children's health depends on the organization of food and care for them. High morbidity is caused by many factors - non-observance of rules of personal hygiene by parents at preparation of food, at feeding.
Many ill adults do not immediately go to the hospital for symptoms of the disease and are treated independently, being potential sources of the disease for others, especially for children, "- said Irina Zubkova.
In this regard, Kharkiv citizens are asked to monitor the food, sanitary culture and shelf life of products - do not buy food in spontaneous markets, kvass from barrels and milk outside markets. Permits to trade in these products the city council did not give.
