The next round of confrontation around the Kharkov oncology center flared up the day before, when a team of doctors could not stand the abundance of checks, said about pressure from the regional authorities instead of the expected support. The administration of the institution was replaced last year, when complaints of patients and their relatives reached the activists, and those in turn handed them over to the deputies of the regional council, which is subordinated to the oncological center. During the audit it was found out that the state of the building was emergency, the funds that could be used for reconstruction from the rent of premises were used for other purposes, the drugs were sold to patients at inflated prices through a pharmacy owned by the daughter of the ex-head physician, and the quality of medical care aroused quite a bit of criticism.

As a result, the former head physician was fired, and the new director, Denis Skory, was invited instead to the transformed enterprise, which invited a new team of doctors, found extrabudgetary funding. At the same time, no promised assistance from the budget, says Skory, they never received. The deputy head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Healthcare Irina Sysoenko came to understand the new conflict.
