The shower can have a bad effect on health, say US specialists.

The problem is that the shower heads often contain a lot of harmful bacteria that get on the skin of the face, the human body and into the air when washing under the shower. Tests have shown that almost a third of shower devices contain bacteria and can cause lung disease, researchers explained..

The level of Mycobacterium avium is a hundred times higher than the level of these bacteria in the aqueduct, especially many bacteria are located behind the inside of the shower head, according to the National Academy of Sciences.

If, when the shower is turned on, water immediately gets on the face, a person receives a high concentration of pathogenic bacteria, including inhaling harmful substances, which ultimately leads to lung health problems, experts say.

Scientists believe that this way one can explain why in recent years the number of people suffering from infections due to these bacteria has increased as the number of people who prefer to take a shower instead of a bath has increased.

A stream of water, beating from the shower nozzle, distributes the accumulated bacteria by droplets, harmful bacteria easily enter the air, and then, with breathing, reach the deepest areas of the lungs, scientists from the University in Bolder State of Colorado.
