The question of the need for hysteroscopy in the protocol of IVF is studied by Brazilian reproductive specialists. Specialists during the study conducted hysteroscopy for a group of women who had unsuccessful IVF attempts, but according to the results of standard pathology diagnostics it was not revealed. In 45% of patients, various pathologies in the uterine cavity were detected, and their successful treatment. After this, pregnancy occurred in 19% of patients who underwent hysteroscopy, and about 5% of those who did not have pathology. Thus, in the presence and the patient of an unsuccessful IVF attempt, doctors are strongly recommended to perform hysteroscopy.

Statistics of Brazilian scientists are consistent with the situation in Ukraine and other European countries, where there is already a vast experience of diagnostic hysteroscopy in case of unsuccessful IVF attempts.

In fact, quite often hysteroscopy can detect a pathology of the uterus, previously not detected by ultrasound and GHA data. This applies in most cases of violations of the histological structure of the endometrium - hyperplasia, polyposis - and chronic endometritis, which interfere with the process of implantation of embryos. Often these problems can be eliminated and help the onset of pregnancy in the next IVF program.
