Berend Feddersen from the University of Munich on the pages of the journal Neurology shared this discovery. It turns out that even after a severe stroke a person can cross his legs, it means, most likely, he will recover, writes The Times of India.

"Although after the impact of people's mobility decreased, I noticed that some patients could cross their legs. And this, in fact, is not so simple. Probably, this ability can become a new method of diagnosis, which makes it possible to assess the chances of recovery more accurately, "explains Feddersen.

These are cases where people could cross their legs in the first 15 days after a stroke. As further analysis showed, they showed fewer neurological problems and decreased mortality. This theory the scientist has already tested on a group of patients.

Feddersen collected 68 people who had a severe stroke.

They all needed to stay in the intensive care unit, lung ventilation and maintenance of blood circulation. Patients were divided into two equal groups. In one group were people who could cross their legs, and in the second - those who could not.

The expert followed their condition throughout the year, checking various parameters to assess the incapacity. After a year, it was found that among patients crossed legs, 9%. But among those who could not cross their legs, 53%.
