Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that plays an important role in regulating redox processes in the body, and may also slow the premature aging process, Canadian researchers believe, according to an online edition for girls and women aged 14 to 35. Pannochka. Net Preliminary indications of aging properties of vitamin C were obtained by specialists from the Center for Cancer Research in Quebec. They studied "Werner's syndrome" - a rare disease in which people at the age of about 20 years begin to grow old quickly and often do not live to 50 years of age. The study was published in the "Journal of Experimental Biology of the Federation of American Scientific Societies".

Scientists for experiments selected mice with obesity and with signs of diabetes. It was found that after the introduction of drugs containing vitamin C to experimental animals, their condition was significantly improved. On the control group - healthy laboratory mice - preparations with vitamin C had no visible effect. The researchers suggest that the vitamin had an effect on the WRN gene that causes "Werner's syndrome".

Experts believe that it is necessary to further study the factors that cause premature aging of the body. They believe that doses of vitamin C can have a positive impact. The researchers plan to organize a medical observation of a group of Canadians suffering from cardiovascular diseases, diabetes and cancer to find out if they have WRN gene disorders, and if so, can additional doses of vitamin C be useful to them.
