More and more women are taking contraceptives not at all for the purpose of contraception. According to data provided in the report of the Institute Gattmacher, for other reasons not related to pregnancy, one third of the girls drink tablets, MSNBC reports..

Most of them take contraceptives to cope with menstrual pains, correct the menstrual cycle, get rid of rashes on the skin. And some pills even help to get rid of migraine attacks.

According to the author of the report, Rachel Jones, in her work she relied on the data obtained during the national American study 2006-2007. Then more than 7000 women aged 15-44 years were interviewed.

Taking pills, they asked why they drink them, in addition to controlling pregnancy.

In addition to the reasons outlined above, it turned out that some women are thus trying to prepare themselves for the onset of menopause.

In total, for example, in the US, 18% of more than 11 million women aged 15-44 years are now taking contraceptives. Approximately 14% (1.5 million people) do not drink them in order to prevent conception. About half of them never had sex. Another part continued to take pills, despite the fact that at the moment they were not sexually active.
