Almonds reduce blood cholesterol levels

Regular use of a small amount of almonds can reduce the level of cholesterol in the human body, according to American researchers from the University of Massachusetts.

Scientists conducted a study in which 27 volunteers with elevated cholesterol. All subjects underwent tests at the beginning of the experiment. Then the participants of the experiment were offered a choice of three different diets with the same number of calories.



The experience lasted for a month. The first group was offered to take 75 grams of almonds, the second - half the portion. The third and did not at all eat almonds. As a result, it turned out that the volunteers from the first group had a harmful cholesterol level of 19%. The second group had a much smaller result, in the third group, almost nothing changed. Experts believe that you can consume almonds as a prophylaxis of heart disease.
