Too frequent consumption of meat and dairy products can be one of the factors that increase the likelihood of death from cardiovascular disease. This conclusion was reached by researchers from the Mayo Clinic in Rochester (USA, Minnesota).



Having examined and interviewed more than 29,000 elderly women, and subsequently observed them for 15 years, scientists found that those of them whose diet included mainly meat and dairy products died 40% more often from cardiovascular diseases than supporters of other Diets. Most often, the immediate cause of death was myocardial infarction or stroke.

By the way, the interest of researchers specifically to meat and dairy products was far from happening. The fact is that these products are the main components of the diet of some of the most common diets now, including the popular Atkins diet. And debates about how useful and effective these kinds of diet have been for several decades.
