Hot baths in the cold season can cause a heart attack, say Japanese researchers.
Scientists conducted a long-term large-scale study, during which they analyzed the causes of cardiac arrest in humans. It turns out that a heart attack happened 5.5 times more often with people in a hot bath than with significant physical exertion. The highest risk was in the cold season.
Doctors explain this by the fact that on cold days, taking a hot bath sharply reduces blood pressure, which negatively affects the work of the heart, especially if a person has certain health problems of the cardiovascular system. This leads to the onset of a heart attack.
