Google is working on a project called Dragonfly - this is an internal search engine for China with built-in censorship. According to The Intercept, the development of the search engine for Android continues from the spring of 2017. Normal Google search blocked in the country since 2010.
Sources said that the search engine will automatically remove from the search engine the requests blocked by the "Great Chinese Firewall" (China's Great Firewall). The service will comply with the laws of China, including Facebook and Twitter bans, as well as opposition sites.
According to the interlocutors of the publication, now Google is waiting for the approval of Chinese officials and plans to launch the project during the year. In addition to the censored results in the search, blank pages will be displayed on requests that are completely banned in China.
