The federal court filed charges against the former Apple engineer for stealing industrial secrets related to the development of an unmanned vehicle and trying to flee with them to China.

Agents in San Jose, California, arrested Xiaolang Zhang right before boarding the plane, reports Voice of America.

It was believed that in April, Zhang took leave to care for the child, after traveling to China immediately after his birth.

Upon his return, he informed the management that he was moving from Apple to Xiaopeng Motors, a company based in Guangzhou, which also plans to produce unmanned vehicles.

However, security cameras recorded that Zhang was a member of the lab of unmanned vehicles Apple and downloaded drawings and other documents to a personal computer at a time when he allegedly was on vacation in China.
