Anomalously hot spring indicates irreversible climate change. Ukraine in the next few decades can turn into a steppe.

Such a forecast was given by the head of the department of agrometeorology of the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center Tatiana Adamenko, the Observer reports..

"There is a great risk that in two decades the forest-steppe will turn into a steppe under the influence of climate change. What is climate change? This is an increase in the average annual temperature, and not only for us. Throughout the world, this trend is observed.

If we have warming up to 2000 was due to winter, then after 2000 the temperature rises precisely in the summer period. If the spring is cold or warm, the temperature in July-August definitely goes above the norm in 90% of cases, "she explained..

According to her, the climatic zone of the northern steppe has already reached the Cherkassy and Poltava regions, while in the southern steppe (Kherson region) there is desertification. On the level of moisture in the soil, the south of the Kherson region is already approaching the Kalahari Desert in Africa.
