In British Cambridge, the farewell ceremony with the physicist Stephen Hawking is taking place, which died on March 14, NV reports with reference to the Air Force. When the burial cortege arrived at the church of St. Mary, the bells struck 76 times - the number of years lived by the famous scientist. Despite the fact that Hawking was an atheist, his family decided to organize a farewell ceremony in the church. Native, including his three children, Lucy, Robert and Tim, followed the coffin decorated with white lilies and roses that symbolize the universe.

Hundreds of admirers of the theoretical physicist gathered at the church, met the hearse with applause. One of the first to attend the ceremony was the actor Eddie Redmayne, who in 2014 played a scientist in the film The Universe of Stephen Hawking. Hawking's ashes will be buried in Westminster Abbey next to the grave of Isaac Newton. Mourners line the street and applaud as Stephen Hawking enters St Mary's Church in Cambridge.
