The authorities of Rome intend to prohibit private cars with diesel engines to enter the historic city center.

Such a rule is planned to be introduced in 2024, the Mayor of the Italian capital, Virginia Raji, told Facebook.

"Climate change is changing our way of life. Our cities can face unexpected challenges, "- wrote a member of the opposition populist Movement" 5 stars ", which was elected Mayor of Rome in the summer of 2016.

Together with other major cities in the world, the Italian capital has decided to make certain commitments and announce a ban on diesel cars, continued Virginia Raji.
