With a further increase in temperature, Ukraine faces a drought, as well as the disappearance of Polesie with its transition to the zone of unstable hydration.

This opinion was voiced by the head of the department of agrometeorology of the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center Tatyana Adamenko within the framework of the exhibition "Agro Vesna 2018", the "Latifundist".

According to her, with the current rates of warming remaining, the number of days with temperatures above 10 degrees will only grow. Compared with the previous period (1995-2005. ) of such days became 10 more.

In addition, she said, Ukraine annually lacks 150-200 mm of precipitation to provide agriculture with sufficient moisture.

"With a further increase in temperature, the efficiency of precipitation will fall, evaporation will increase, which threatens the drought and even the disappearance of Polissya and its further transition to the zone of unstable hydration.

Although now it is the only area with sufficient moisture in Ukraine, "- said Adamenko.

According to observations of meteorologists, the greatest warming has recently been observed in the Kiev, Chernigov, Sumy and Zhitomir regions. This least affected Transcarpathia.

As previously reported, according to climatologists, a significant part of the south of Ukraine in the next hundred years may be under water if the forecasts for further climate warming will come true.
