When I write about the great and mighty fleet of our hybrid neighbor, highlighting a whole layer of problems, shortcomings and backwardness of technology, I pay attention not only to the Navy. In particular, very interesting events are taking place on the bridgehead of the conquest of the Arctic expanses ... And to be more precise, it does not happen, writes the blogger Angry Odessit in his LJ.
So, it became known that the main nuclear icebreaker of Project 22220 Arktika, which is under construction from 2013, will not soon see a white light, because due to problems with the delivery of the second main turbo-generator it was decided to postpone its deadline for an indefinite period, the icebreaker was completely stopped. Earlier it was planned to commission this icebreaker in operation in 2019.
It should be noted that the main nuclear icebreaker LK-60YA "Arctic" project 22220 is not the only one of its kind and besides it was planned to develop the freezing spaces in 2021 to get "Siberia", and in 2022 to commission the icebreaker "Ural". However, the terms are shifting ... And, you will be surprised, but the fault is Ukraine!.
The matter is that the steam turbine installation for the icebreaker, which was manufactured at Kirov-Energomash, was to be tested at the Kharkov Turbine Plant. However, Russian revanchism made its own adjustments to the plans, and KEM began building on its own facilities a test stand.
Thus, plans to subjugate the Arctic are postponed for an indefinite period. And here's how not to twist, and without Ukraine, even an icebreaker can not bring to mind. Trifle - but nice! Although, no, not a trifle!.
The matter is that the turbogenerators for the "Arctic" cost the budget of the super-power at 2.7 billion rubles, and 1.4 billion rubles was spent on the test stand. But, as practice shows, these investments turned out to be very doubtful - the icebreaker does not swim anywhere!.
