The development of the super-heavy Falcon Heavy rocket, successfully launched the day before from Cape Canaveral in the US state of Florida, cost SpaceX $ 500 million.
This was stated at the press conference following the launch, the founder of the company Ilon Mask, Apostrophe reports with reference to CNBC.
He also noted that the company developed the missile for its own money without resorting to raising taxpayers' funds or crowdfunding (public financing).
He also promised the next launch of Falcon Heavy in 3-6 months, during which the rocket will put commercial cargo into orbit.
The Falcon Heavy rocket was presented by Ilon Mask in 2011. Initially, it was planned to be launched in 2013, but during its development SpaceX faced serious difficulties, because of which the process was seriously delayed.
