What happens if I put a disco ball in orbit? A wave of perturbations from scientists. As told in the company Rocket Lab, which came up with the project, "The Star of Humanity" is a sphere of carbon fiber, which fixed 65 retro-reflective panels of triangular shape.

The meteor object will reflect the sun's rays to Earth - it can be seen from anywhere on the planet, because it will become the brightest "star" in the sky.

Thus, the "disco ball" will recall "our short-lived existence in the universe".

The art object Rocket Lab was criticized by astronomers, calling it "vandalism" and categorizing it as "space debris".

Dean of the Department of Astrobiology, Columbia University Caleb Scharf compared the "Star of Mankind" with an advertising poster on top of Everest and a garland worn on a polar bear.

The object was criticized by New Zealand journalists who warned that the disco ball would open up new horizons for large companies in orbit. Maybe because of the "Star of Humanity" in the future, the "Star of Coca-Cola", "The Star of Amazon" or "Trump Star" will be circling the Earth.

Rocket Lab, defending its heavenly "disco ball," notes that the object will exist in orbit for the next nine months, after which it will burn in the atmosphere of the planet.
