The American corporation Boeing has presented a prototype of a cargo drones with a vertical take-off and landing (CAV). This is reported by the Center for Transport Strategies.
The power unit of the device, designed and built in less than three months, is powered by an electric battery and can carry a cargo weighing up to 500 pounds (about 228 kilograms).
"Our new prototype CAV. provides new opportunities for autonomous delivery of goods, logistics and other transport applications, "said Steve Nordlund, vice president of Boeing HorizonX, a unit that developed CAV.
According to the developer, the first prototype will be used for testing the proprietary technology of autonomous control.
