Apple released security updates for iOS, macOS and Safari to protect against vulnerabilities in processors. They are recommended for installation to all users.

Apple's updates are aimed at mitigating the effects of attacks such as Specter, which violate the barrier between applications and allow one service to crawl into the memory of another. The company thanked many developers for identifying the error, including Yanna Horn from Google Project Zero.
Previously, Apple has already released updates (iOS 11. 2, macOS 10. 13. 2 and tvOS 11.
2) to combat another, more serious type of attack - Meltdown. Apple Watch vulnerabilities are not affected. The company urged to download applications only from the App Store.
Apple acknowledged that the vulnerability in the processor affects all devices on macOS and iOS, including Apple TV set-top boxes and tvOS system. The company's decision against Meltdown did not show a decrease in performance, although because of the fixes, computers could run slower than usual by 5-30%.
