Financial and educational edition of Investopedia called bitcoin the term of 2017.

Earlier this week, Investopedia published its annual list of top financial terms. The main criteria are two: the number of search queries and the annual increase. It is not surprising that bitcoin ranked first in this list, ahead of such terms as "artificial intelligence", "Trumpcare", "FAANG" and even "milleniales".

Despite the fact that all competitors of the term "bitcoin" also deserve attention, none of them showed such amazing results as bitcoin. Chief editor of Investopedia Caleb Silver commented on the publication's decision:.

We have already seen investment manias, but the hype around bitcoins, crypto and lock-block has reached new heights.

One of the evidence of growing interest in bitcoin is the US stock exchanges, which almost run out of bitcoin futures. Even central banks began to explore ways to use the technology that underlies crypto currency, for the release of national digital currencies.

Blocking and ICO It is noteworthy that bitcoin was not the only term associated with crypto-currencies that appeared in the list. Blockhouse occupies the second place.

Many technical analysts believe that this technology, potentially can change the situation in many industries.

Meanwhile, ICO took the fourth place, which is quite appropriate, given that this nascent fund-raising model helped start-ups raise more than $ 4 billion.

While we do not yet know how these trends will develop in 2018, we know that investors are hungry for more information and understanding of how innovative technologies will affect investment, personal and professional life.
