For a phenomenal natural formation, the Great Barrier Reef, which is gradually dying due to a global increase in the temperature of the water in the ocean, a "glimmer of hope".

Researchers from the University of New South Wales were able to artificially grow coral polyps in damaged areas of the Great Barrier Reef. This achievement was called an ecological breakthrough, the "Our Planet" referring to The Independent.

To conduct the experiment, scientists collected eggs and spermatozoa from healthy corals from the island of Geron and moved them to the "lifeless" areas of the Great Coral Reef, trying to "plant" as many new polyps.

During the year, a hundred new inhabitants of the reef grew, which provided an opportunity to receive financial assistance from the Government of Australia for the development of a scientific project.

The Great Barrier Reef is the largest object formed by living organisms. Unfortunately, now he is in danger. Due to global warming over the past two years, most of the corals have become discolored.

Although discoloration is not always fatal to coral life, last year's study revealed "the most extensive extinction of corals ever recorded".
