The conclusions were drawn after a thorough analysis of the data on the networks that launched the cyber attack, as well as the codes and tactics of infection.
In addition, the British publication emphasizes that the same conclusion is reached by European intelligence officers as well: they note that the virus, from which Ukraine was mainly affected, was not aimed at extorting money, but by massive destabilization.
Recall earlier in the New York Times said that the viruses WannaCry and Petya.
A are derived from developments of the US National Security Agency, but the US government is not in a hurry to admit this.
At the same time, the employees of the Security Service of Ukraine have established the involvement of the Russian special services in cyberattack using the Petya virus.
As previously reported, the hacker attack stopped the work of payment terminals in the "Kiev Metro" and led to massive disruptions in Ukrainian trading networks, energy companies, media, banks, postal services.
