In the sky over the Chinese city of Unjun, eyewitnesses filmed a whole flying city on video that appeared after a severe thunderstorm over their heads.

It was created from the clouds, writes the Observer with reference to the Daily Mail.

Scientists explained that this phenomenon is called fata morgana. It often occurs when in the lower layers of the atmosphere several alternating layers of air of different density are formed, which give mirror reflections. As a result of this, as well as the refraction of the rays, objects that actually exist give on the horizon or above it a few distorted images that overlap one another and change rapidly.

This phenomenon is observed in China not for the first time. Similar happened in the sky over the city of Jiangxi.
