Japanese automotive giant Toyota started mass production of the world's first car with a hydrogen engine. The new sedan "Mirai" works only on hydrogen, and instead of harmful exhausts produces pure water. According to the designers, one filling will last for 650 km of the way.

Japanese automotive plant Toyota will start selling its first hydrogen sedan "Mirai" inland in December, from 2016 announced the beginning of sales in the US.

The price of new items in Japan will be about $ 60 thousand. At the same time the government of the country announced that all buyers of environmentally friendly sedans will receive subsidies from the state in the amount of $ 17 thousand.

Since the "Mirai" rides on hydrogen, it requires special gas stations. The process of refueling the car takes only a few minutes.

In this case, according to the manufacturer, a full tank sedan can travel about 650 km, and the cost of refueling the tank per 1 km is only $ 0.1.

Energy in the unique engine of the car is generated by the reaction of hydrogen oxidation inside the electrochemical generator. The power of the electric motor is 136 horsepower.

In the near future, Honda plans to enter the market of hydrogen cars. The company starts selling the FCV model in 2016.
