The largest Russian torrent tracker RuTracker has released a special application to combat attempts by Russian authorities to slow down the download speed of files. Versions of the application for the operating systems Windows, MacOS and Linux are laid out on github.

The program creates a proxy server that sends requests to the necessary nodes of the torrent network to bypass the lock.

About the attempt to slow down the speed of file downloads through RuTracker, the Russian authorities officially announced in May, although the tracker itself wrote that measures are taken from the beginning of spring. To this end, the list of prohibited sites is added to the addresses of servers that distribute technical information about torrents (announcers).

Since 2016, RuTracker has been under permanent blockage from Roskomnadzor. During this time attendance tracker fell almost twice.
