Five-time Olympic champion, 20-time world champion, five-time overall winner of the Biathlon World Cup Johannes Boe announced that he will retire at the end of this season.

The 31-year-old biathlete said he wants to concentrate on family life rather than sports.

“For 13 years I have been part of the best national team in the world, I have the best sponsors in the world behind me. For the past six seasons I have been balancing top-level sports with family life.. It was amazing but also difficult.

Now I feel it's time to prioritize family.

According to the plan, I was supposed to continue performing for another year, but participation in the Olympics requires even more, including from those around me. I still love to compete, but there are fewer competition days than everyone else..

Let's enjoy the last races together before we conclude with the grand finale in Holmenkollen on March 20-23,"

Let us remind you that the schedule and results of all Biathlon World Cup races of the 2024/25 season are available on ISPORT.
