Recall that last season in the Red Bull were very unhappy with Renault power units, and made no secret of his desire to change the manufacturer, despite another year of contract. Potentially replacing Reno in Red Bull wanted to see engines from Ferrari, but negotiations have not been successful, and the Bulls had to settle for French-made engines.

The first Grand Prix of the season showed that the pace of Red Bull still behind Ferrari and Mercedes, but the gap is not as significant as before. According to many experts, this is due to the fact that the Bulls have the best chassis in the Championship. And that means more powerful propulsion system would be able to bring back the cars of Red Bull a leading position in the championship.

When the head of Ferrari Sergio Marchionne asked about the failure of the deal with Dietrich Mateschitz team he replied curtly: "This could be a huge mistake".

Earlier, in a similar vein, he expressed and Head of Mercedes Toto Wolff, to which Red Bull also addressed a proposal to supply engines.

Worth noting that in this season, Renault have provided better quality engines. The head of Red Bull's Christian Horner expects that by the Canadian Grand Prix will provide the updated French power plants, which will help to catch up on the pace of Ferrari.
