European football associations are considering the possibility of calling on the lists that previously supported the candidacy of Gianni Infantino in the upcoming FIFA presidential elections. The Guardian reports this.

According to Dzherel, such an initiative is being discussed as a way to put pressure on the top FIFA official and force him to reconsider his further plans. Among the options are both the immediate response to the lists and the actions of the government in support of neighboring federations, which will actually become a demonstration of distrust of Infantino.

Previously, UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin called on the associations, which had supported Infantino in letters, to make their statements.

It appears that out of 55 national UEFA associations, only three - Germany, Romania and Norway - did not sign sheets of support for the FIFA President. Infantino's candidacy was previously supported by 200 of the 211 members of the world football organization, although, according to Gerel, part of the federation had no doubts about this possible new term.

The FIFA presidential election may take place around 2027.
