England captain Harry Kane shared his emotions after the defeat to Argentina (1:2) in the 2026 World Cup finals, indicating that the team greatly appreciated the chance to play against.

“I’m already covering for the team, the coaching staff and the fans. We played well for most of the match. When we took the lead 1:0, it seemed like we were just trying to take the result, and in such a level that’s not enough.

The forward said that the English had deprived all their strength on the field, but it was not enough to win.

" The boys gave their skin drops of blood, sweat and tears. To fail like this is simply unbearable.

While disappointed, Kane believes that the team has gained another margin in advance and is losing its competitive edge.

" Lots of good matches, another semi-final. We are talking about those who “knock at the door”. We’re close, we just need to know that daily element at the final stage of the tournament,” Kane said.

At the final of the 2026 World Cup, the Argentina team will compete with Spain. The final match of the tournament will take place on the 19th at Met-Life Stadium in East Rutherford.
