Dynamo Kyiv President Igor Surkis commented on his team’s victory in the Ukrainian Cup final over Chernigov (3:1), and also shared his thoughts about the season and upcoming club.
After the final whistle, the functionary recognized that his team had achieved victory, despite the difference in class.
" For these patients, first for everything. The season is not far off, I would say so, but we have the Cup,” Surkis said on the UPL TB broadcast.
The President of Dynamo said that the trophy is of great importance for the club and commended the team and head coach Oleksandr Shovkovsky for their progress to the final.
" The boys conquered him, and I’m already tired of it. In addition, Oleksandr Shovkovsky, who achieved victory over Shakhtar, was heading to the final. That’s why I’m so proud: having beaten Shakhtar in Kiev, what was an even tough match, and today we put a big mark on it,” the president told the club.
Surkis also commented on his jealousy with Shakhtar for the number of trophies he won..
" I know all the statistics, which is important for patients, first of all. We must prepare carefully and play better in the coming season than we played in this season,” he said.
