World boxing champion Oleksandr Usyk beat the seat of the first vice-president of Zhytomyr Poliss. The athlete told about it on his Instagram.
“I’m starting a new chapter - as the first vice-president of the Polissia football club. For me, it’s not just posada. It is possible to integrate, strengthen and develop Ukrainian sports on a common level.
I have always said: strength lies in discipline, honesty and team. These principles are lost with me and here. One of my first priorities will be judicial reform in Ukraine. I believe that insight and justice are the basis of the story,” said Usyk.
As the club's press service informs, the president of Polissia Gennady Butkevich and Oleksandr Usyk officially signed a contract for which boxer to pass from the status of a graver to the administrative position.
It is clear that Usyk will achieve strategic development for the club, as well as work on the popularization of Ukrainian football. One of the key areas of his activity will be the reform of justice.
Apparently, Usyk, having signed a contract with Polissyam in 2023, was able to play a number of friendly matches for the team. His debut was made at the Winter Cup 2022 against Veres (3:1), and the other match was played in a sparring match against Canadian Vancouver (2:0).
