Ingul's head coach Vasil Kobin commented on his team's performance in the 1/4 finals of the Ukrainian Cup against Dynamo Kiev (0:2).
“The first emotions, of course, are negative, because we gave Dynamo their first goal. We could have played more clearly at that moment. I said before the game that we don’t yet understand our strengths. Now everything has become clear to us. We worked well on defense, we chose a good plan for the game, and after working, we had two good chances - one in the transition phase in the first half, and one in the standard. We didn’t convert, and then at the start of the next half, cover the goal, cover up the situation, where we could play better.
It’s clear that during the preparations we understood that there would be attacks on us. The plan for the game that we have chosen, and the problems that exist in Dynamo, are true, effective, clear. The most important thing is to plant it on the field and vikorize it.
We lost a lot of fights, especially the top balls, Popov won almost all the balls. We went against those who placed two attackers. It stinks, but it’s too bad to fight. The whole plan is to catch Dynamo in the transition phase, to try to deliver the ball in front as quickly as possible, to our attackers, who suffer from the speed, who are a little skewed by the speed.
Nurture the lawn - we didn’t plan to lay it on... The game with the ball didn’t catch us, because we wanted the Dynamo team with the Epicenter, which, of course, allowed a technical defect. We played a lot with Rukh, there was little football, but there was a lot in the fight against aggression. In principle, I respect that the boys played, as for the first official game, against such a Dynamo, against an aggressive Dynamo, as they won two games - I respect that they played well, confidently. The worst thing my team is worried about is that it’s a big deal. I am so glad, I want to greet them with respect to the 2026 Rock Championship.
The vibration of the counterattack in the other half was booming, but Dynamo was still, melodiously, building up - the stench was lost plus one graver from behind, and it was still important.
