At a meeting of the Executive Committee of the Ukrainian Football Association, a decision was made to appoint a new head coach of the Ukrainian women's national team.

According to the official website of the UAF, Iya Andrushchak, a former football player, midfielder of the national team, who played 58 matches and scored two goals, was appointed to the vacated position..

The 38-year-old coach previously headed the Vorskla U-19 youth team in 2023-2024, becoming the first woman in Ukraine to manage a men's team. In 2025, she was appointed head coach of the Vorskla women's team.

The Ukrainian women's national team will take part in the 2027 Nations League, which will become a qualifying tournament in the UEFA zone for the 2027 World Cup. The Blue-Yellows will play in Group 3 of League A along with teams from Spain, England and Iceland.
