Italian Milan is considering Brazilian goalkeeper Hugo Sousa from Corinthians as a possible replacement for Mike Maignan if the French goalkeeper is not fit to renew his contract.

According to Sky Sports, Maignan's appointment will end this summer. Despite the active interest of other European clubs, Milan are cautious in negotiations for a new contract for their main goalkeeper.

At the same hour the club is already preparing a backup plan. The 26-river Hugo Sousa is one of the priority options for the Italian grandee. Its transfer target is estimated at approximately 12 million euros.

Last season, Souza played 53 matches, keeping a clean sheet in 25 matches, demonstrating his reliable game at the remaining level.
