The famous English coach Steve McClaren has submitted his resignation as the head coach of the Jamaica national team, reports AP News.
The 64-year-old footballer praised this decision after his team failed to beat Curacao (0:0) and directly qualified for the 2026 World Cup. Now the Jamaicans will have the opportunity to go through the intercontinental playoffs against Mexico, even under the leadership of a new coach.
McClaren was proud of everything for his work with Middlesbrough from 2001–2006, leading the team to the 2006 UEFA Cup final. In 2006–2007, the English national team was defeated, after the recent selection for Euro 2008. Also worked with clubs Twente, Wolfsburg, Nottingham Forest, Derby, Newcastle and QPR.
