UAF arbitration consultant Nicola Rizzoli commented on the controversial incident that took place during the UPL match between Dynamo Kiev and Metalist Kharkiv 1925 (1:1).

It seems likely that in one episode of the match, the White-Blues’ forward Vitaly Buyalsky fell into the penalty area of \u200b\u200bKharkiv after contracting with Ivan Litvinenko. Head referee of the match Viktor Kopievsky and VAR referee Andriy Kovalenko praised the decision to continue the game without causing damage to the Kharkiv team.

“It is important to explain this situation, the remaining defender of Metalist 1925 under No. 25 is clearly trying to play the ball, but does not manage to do anything and the weariness ends up in his opponent’s supporting leg.

If it looks like an obvious kick, then it should be considered a foul.

A replay of the episode confirms this obvious kick-up, and the referee will award a penalty. Based on the video materials available to the video assistant referee and the dynamics of the incident as described, the video assistant referee was given a recommendation to conduct a review of the field,” Rizzoli said..

After eight rounds, Dynamo scored 16 points and sits another place in the UPL behind Shakhtar, one point ahead.
