The record holder of the Mexican national team for the number of matches played, Andres Guardado, announced the end of his professional playing career.
“I would like to publicly announce my decision to leave football at the end of this season and end my professional career after 19 years. I want to thank the President of Leon, Jesus Martinez, who has given me the opportunity to finish my career in Mexico. I know that everything didn’t turn out the way we wanted, but I am grateful to this club.
We still have little hope of playing in the playoffs, I’m sure what will happen, otherwise the week’s match will be the end of my career.
I walk with gratitude and pride for everything I have achieved, for those who have ended my death,” Guardado wrote on his Instagram page.
According to Andres Guadrado, 182 matches for the Mexico national team and 28 goals scored. At the warehouse of the national team, the 38-Rich Grand Prix won the CONCACAF Cup. He also took part in the last five championships of the world - in Germany (2006), PAIR (2010), Brazil (2014), FR (2018) and Qatar (2022).
On the club level, Guadrado became the champion of the Netherlands at the PSV warehouse and won the Spanish Cup together with Betis.
